Cheap Fitness Equipment for You and Your
Child

Physical activity is a must in everyone’s life, helping you stay fit and even having a positive
influence on children’s mental activity. Physical activity is the safest path to a healthy life and this doesn’t
necessarily involve spending lots of money on fitness equipment. You can also find cheap fitness equipment and
enjoy the benefits of an active life every day.
If you want to make up a program for your child in order to determine them to take up this
healthy lifestyle, you can even use different things you already have around the house, such as chalk, balls or
milk jugs. Also, you can use jump ropes, free weights, resistance bands and videos, these being some of the
cheapest pieces of equipment you can find.
The jump rope is a way of doing aerobic activity, which helps with the heart activity, agility
and coordination. For children, this cheap fitness equipment is very fun, too, as they consider is a way of
playing, not necessarily a proper workout. Their muscles can be engaged by doing different types of exercises,
varying in intensity, styles and rhythms.
Resistance bands are also cheap. They are actually elastic strips which can be used for building
your resistance. These can replace free weights and have multiple resistance levels. This kind of cheap fitness
equipment strengthens your muscles by doing different exercises like triceps extensions, squats, bicep curls, chest
flys, lunges and so on. If you intend on putting your kids work out with resistance bands, you should always
supervise them and make sure they don’t work with consistent weights which can hurt their muscles rather then help
them.
Free weights are also cheap and simple to use. As they don’t have weight stacks, cables or pins,
they aren’t complicated mechanisms at all. You and your child can work out with barbells, dumbbells and standard
size barbells and with various weight plates. Once again, the weight plates used by children shouldn’t be very
heavy, as you want your kids to work out regularly and make them an adequate workout program, not to start and give
up the other day because they have a serious muscular fever and they can’t keep the fork in their hands at lunch
anymore.
Even unconventional cheap fitness equipment can be found, such as balls, chalk and milk jugs. For
instance, with balls, children can work out by throwing and catching the ball, this activity acting on their
upper part of the body and on their stomach muscles. Also, you can have them run and jump, therefore involving
more of their muscles in their physical activity.
Physical activity engages you and your kids in a healthy lifestyle, this being a good aim which
shouldn’t necessarily involve considerable amounts of money. Also, as far as children are concerned, they should
have fun when working out in order to maintain their interest and determine them to do their exercising on a
regular basis.
